Appearance: A ginger tom, watching his friend from a window.
Origins: We’ve heard several stories about why these two cats were put up – some say they were put up to scare the pigeons or mice from stock. The Evening Press says (13th April 1962) that Sir Stephen Aitcheson, who owned the grocer’s that occupied the buildings at the time, thought they would be eye-catching, and especially attractive to children.
