Low Ousegate cat missing

Posted on 10 September 2009 by Jon

During a visit to York last year, we noticed that the black cat on Low Ousegate has disappeared. We got in touch with the people at Johnson’s Dry Cleaners (who own the building), and we were told that City of York Council had asked the company to have the cat removed on the grounds that it was a safety hazard.

We got in touch with a contact we have at the Council in York, and were informed that the cat was removed without permission. We’ve since been assured the moggy is safe and well, and that its removal is under investigation.

We’ve not heard much more on this over the last few months I’m afraid, but we’ll be sure to report it on the site when we hear more. Let’s hope it turns up again like this Bedfordshire cat did!
