Appearance: A carved stone cat living peacefully in the grounds of a church.

Origins: Gerald was a striking Bengal cat who used to roam freely around the Minster precincts in York. When he passed away in Autumn 2020, a crowdfunding campaign was started to create a permanent memorial to Gerald. This target was reached and surpassed within a matter of days!


Sculpted by Antony Bartyla. Unveiled by Actor Mark Addy in April 2021 at The Cat Gallery, and in his permanent location by Julian Norton, The Yorkshire Vet in 2022.  The installation was reported by York Mix in 2021
