Cat #01

Date installed: May 2011

Appearance: A white cat sitting in a noble upright pose.

Origins: When Peter & Alison moved The Cat Gallery to 45 Low Petergate, their first thought was to ensure their new premises had a Jonathan Newdick cat. He was installed on their first floor window ledge by Jonathan in Spring 2011, where he looks at The Cat Gallery shop sign and also has an eye for York Minster towering above the shops on the other side of the road. The installation was reported by York Press in May 2011.

Companions: Watch this space! It is not inconceivable that the, as yet unnamed Cat Gallery cat may acquire a companion in due course.

Visibility: High

Location: Near the junction of Low Petergate and Stonegate.
